Foster Care Informational Meeting

Are you or someone you know a person with patience and compassion? Are you understanding, accepting, flexible and nurturing? Are you looking for a way to make a difference and turn a life around? If so, being a foster parent may be the gift you can share.
On Wednesday, June 19, 2013 Waushara County Foster Care Coordinator, Whitney Golding and Deb Kuehn, a foster parent with more than twenty years of experience will share information about foster parenting. The informational meeting will be held from 6-8pm in the community meeting room of the Wautoma Public Library.
The evening offers an opportunity to learn more about local needs for foster parents, as well as the application and training process. Plan to attend, ask questions and learn more about foster parenting from Waushara County�s Foster Care Coordinator and a person who has fostered more than fifty children.

Fox-Wisconsin Heritage Paddle
PRINCETON, Wis. -- One of the most scenic stretches of the Fox River and the convergence of the Wolf River with the Fox will be explored for the next Fox-Wisconsin Heritage Paddle, the weekend of June 22-23.
The weekend of paddling also marks the return of the 28-foot Fox of the River voyageur canoe and the addition of the 10-person canoe Nature Current, offering rides to those who feel uncomfortable paddling on there own or don't have a boat. Information is available by emailing paddle@heritageparkway.org.
The Saturday trip launches from the White River Dam near Princeton at 9:30 a.m. and covers the 12.5-mile route to Berlin. Sunday's 11.5-mile trip starts from Lake Winneconne Park, crosses Lake Butte des Morts and follows around the wildlife impoundment at Terrell Island, with a lunch break at the Lake Butte des Morts Landing. Paddlers may end the trip there at 6 miles or continue on to Rainbow Park in Oshkosh.
For both trips, �paddlers should arrive between 8 and 9 a.m. to have time to unload and shuttle vehicles. A bus will return drivers to the launch.

Country Quilters of Coloma annual quilt show

Enjoy the country loop course. This is a chip timed event. All proceeds go into the Sam Hennessee scholarship fund.

Dance Against Violence Sock Hop Charity Event
9th annual Dance Against Violence Sock Hop Evening Charity event sponsored by the non profit nIc Foundation. Doors open @ 6:30 w/free dance lesson @ 6:45. Dance to 50's-60's Bobby Rivers Band from 8-midnight. Excellent raffle packages, silent auction items, hula hoop contest, art gallery walk. Dress in sock hop attire or seasonal costume. Cost is $8 at the door. Proceeds support the nIc Foundation's bully prevention programs in NE wisconsin. Everyone welcome at the dance to support a needed cause and help stop bullying.
