Fall Fun at Flyte's Fieldstones
Come and enjoy this unforgettable experience and immerse yourself in our 100-year-old farmstead this fall. Fall activities include: an indoor hay maze, 10 acre corn maze, petting zoo, pumpkin decorating, large shell corn area, pumpkin patch, wagon rides, country store, barnyard games, the pumpkin launcher, and more; we are always adding something to make you go WOW! The cost is $10 per person ages 12 and up, children 3-11 pay their age, and children 2 and under are free. To RSVP call (715) 228- 2310.
Healthy Living with Diabetes workshop
Healthy Living with Diabetes is a 6-week workshop designed to help adults with type 2 diabetes or pre-diabetes learn self-management skills and increase confidence in managing diabetes. For more information or to register for the workshop call Amanda, Health Promotion Coordinator with the Aging and Disability Resource Center at 920-787-6666 or toll free at 1-877-883-5378. There is a suggested donation of $15 but it is not required to take the workshop.
Powerful Tools for Caregivers
September 24, 2015 - October 20, 2015
Powerful Tools for Caregivers will be held on Thursdays for six weeks. Two trained class leaders will provide "tools" for caregivers to communicate effectively with the person they are caring for, family members and healthcare professionals. This is an interactive class where caregivers will learn techniques to identify and reduce stress and master caegiving challenges. There is no fee but class participants may wish to make a donation to defray the cost of class materials. Class size is limited, to register call Sue at the Department of Aging (920) 787-0403.
Waushara County Prescription Drug Take Back
Bring all your (and anyone else's) unwanted, unneeded or outdated prescriptions and over-the-counter medicines. Please leave the medications in their original containers. Please remove the patient's name. Items not accepted: inhalers, oxygen tanks, sharps/needles, EpiPens, radioactive cancer medication, thermometers.
Biggest Loser RunWalk Half Marathon/5K/Kids Fit Fun Run
There are races for all fitness levels, whether you are ready to set a personal record or this is your first race, come join us at The Biggest Loser Run/Walk. Each registered participant and finisher will receive: a Biggest Loser finisher's medal, commemorative Biggest Loser Run/Walk shirt, and drawstring backpack. This will also be a chip-timed race for runners and those tracking personal goals. There will also be free downloadable race photos and awards for different divisions. As well as Celebrity appearances by former contestants from “The Biggest Loser”.
An informal fun competition where teams of 10 battle to see who has the greatest MEDIA knowledge from television, music, movies and more. This is fundraiser for CAP Services' Domestic Abuse Outreach office in Waushara County. Cost is $150.00 per team. Cash bar and endless buffet catered by Moose Inn will be available at an additional cost.
